Is it me or even places like 4chan (besides a few boards) and discord feel dead now? It's like everyone only post at mainstream social media, TikTok, YouTube etc.

 No.122

That's pretty much how is is nowadays. Just about everywhere is dead other than the mainstream and a few niche sites. It's truly a shame honestly. It almost feels like some state mandated internet, except it's all corporate run. It's a shame really. Nothing feels the same anymore, just a shell of what it once was.

4chan is literally just paid bots and shills now pushing out the same mediocre threads over and over to more or less shut down any legitimate discussions.

Pretty much. Also all these bait threads and /pol/tards.

4chan is obviously well past it's popularity peak (which was probably like 10 years ago at this point) but that's not the main problem. The main problem is the dramatic decline in the quality of the posts, which technically started waaay back when project chanology first started like 15 years ago, but really started to swan dive after 2013 or so.

I miss the days when I could very easily find quality posts and genuine people who I could relate to…who seemed to be like me. Now the entire internet is just meme spamming retards, SJWs, "clout" chasing narcissists, and unfunny ironybros.

Pretty much all content is geared towards NPCs with an attention span of 45 seconds. Hell, pretty much every website isn't even designed with a desktop/laptop user in mind, and it's been like this for a very long time.

The only exceptions to this are extremely obscure websites with very low activity. There are a couple forums I still visit everyday that I first started using in the early 2000s that somehow still exist, that only get like 2 posts a month.

We are like an indigenous population that was completely displaced and is now almost completely extinct.

Pretty much everything is designed for smartphone users, desktop/laptop users are an afterthought. A large majority of web traffic comes from mobile devices, and it's been that way for a while now.

Desktops are especially becoming a small minority. These days the only people buying desktops these days are "boomers" ("older" people in general not necessarily literal baby boomers) PC gamers and people who do a lot of video editing.

Your average 20something normalfag spends most of their time on the internet on their smartphone or tablet and maybe has a laptop they use from time to time or not at all. They don't own a desktop, and possibly never have.

Hey Anon, did you know that man isn't actually an Indian. Iron Eyes Cody, real name Espera Oscar de Corti was actually a Sicilian who pretended to be Indian for clout.

But yeah, basically the site got flooded by post-Trump election /pol/tards and butthurt losers who wanted to counter gay-op the entire site. 95% of the posts on 4chan these days are orgnised raids, bot spam or unironic feds looking to get a rise out of people/push a narrative.

I knew the guy was an Italian actor, but I didn't know he actually larped as a native american in real life a la Rachel Dolezal.

For real? Lol. I thought that he only acted as an Indian character for the commercial.

While I admit that I spend lots of time at phone and tablet (they're more comfortable when you lie at your bed or outside your PC room), I still use PC because among others this is where I store all my stuff (documents, galleries, tv shows and movies etc). Also typing at PC is obviously more comfortable (even if you can use bluetooth keyboards at phones/tablets).

Also even before smartphone became a thing I was often using my phone to browse sites like 4chan (when 4chan was still good) when I was out or for reading video games walktrhoughs.
